Meet Your Therapist
Rebecca Sherfey LPC-MHSP
"I believe that every family has the capacity for deep resilience—sometimes, we just need a steady place to start."
Hello! I’m Rebecca, and I founded Rooted Paths Counseling because I’m passionate about providing mental health services that help families transition from a place of survival to a place of thriving.
I have 6 years of experience working with children, teens, and parents. I’ve seen firsthand how "household chaos" can make even the strongest families feel untethered. My approach is rooted in the belief that when we understand the why behind a child's behavior or a teen's withdrawal, we can stop reacting to the symptoms and start building a stronger foundation.

My Approach: I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I blend Play Therapy for younger children, Talk therapy and play for teens, and Parent Coaching for the adults in the room. I utilize a Person-Centered approach to meet my clients where they are.

When you sit down with me, you can expect: A Non-Judgmental Space: A "no-shame zone" where every family member feels heard.

Practical Tools: Strategies you can actually use at the dinner table or during the school run.

A Collaborative Partnership: You are the expert on your family; I am here to provide the map and the steady ground.

Outside the Office: When I’m not in the therapy room, you can usually find me playing with my dog, doing nature photography, getting lost in a good book, or spending time with my own family. I practice what I preach by staying grounded in my own "rooted paths," and I bring that same authenticity to our work together.

Our Mission
At Rooted Paths Counseling PLLC, our mission is to empower children, teens, and families through our mental health services to build an unshakable foundation for the future. By nurturing secure attachments and providing practical, evidence-based therapy services, we help you transform household chaos into lasting connections. We believe that when a family is grounded in understanding, every member has the strength to deepen their roots and discover a clear path toward thriving together.
How do we live this out:
For Kids: We use play and creativity to build emotional foundations.
For Teens: We provide a stable, non-judgmental space to navigate identity.
For Parents: We offer the steady ground and strategies needed to lead with calm.
